Roast Plan allows Roasteries to plan out what needs to be roasted and how coffees should be roasted, whether it be hours or days in advance.
Roast Plan introduces Tasks which are individual roasts that can be planned ahead of time. Each task requires coffee and batch size. Additionally, the task can specify the roast reference (Profile or Path), machine, assigned user, and when the task should be completed. A project field can contain any text such as a Purchase Order, or email address, to further organise the roasts to be completed. There is also a checkbox that allows tasks to be marked complete on creation should the task need to be created retroactively.
Roast Plan is a list that contains all the tasks you have created, whether they are completed, in progress or not started. Tasks are listed in the order they are created and are numbered as such. Tasks can be reorganised by dragging the task using the grab bar at the start of the row. The List details everything that was added to the task on creation as well as the tasks status. The Status of the task can be changed by clicking on the circle, marking the task as complete. As of RoastPATH App version 2.5 or newer, the status marker can also indicate if a user is currently roasting the task. A flame icon will appear in the status circle for tasks that have been started, but are not yet complete. When the Roaster is finished roasting the task and marks the task complete in the app, the task will also be marked as complete on the Roast Plan page with a special RP check mark. Additionally if the task was edited or created with a Path/Profile there will be a link available in the list that will open the Path/Profile for viewing.
If for any reason the task could not be completed, either through the app crashing, loss of internet or a bad roast. The task can be tried again on the app or the roast can be marked complete on the portal by clicking on the status.
If a roast was marked complete in error or the task should not be marked complete. Simply click on the status and the task will be marked as incomplete.
All tasks have additional settings in the last column which allows the task to be edited, duplicated, opened in app, or deleted.
Duplicated tasks copy everything about the task but will not be marked complete.
“Open in app” will open the App with the task already preselected and set to roasting(Only available on RoastPATH Apps versions 2.5 or newer).
Deleting a Task will completely remove the Task from the task list. The task list is intended to be a temporary list, not a history of all your roasts. As part of your daily or weekly workflow, it is recommended that you delete all completed tasks after you have reviewed your work for the day or week. It is up to you when you no longer need to review completed tasks.
Roast Plan also supports the capability to bulk select tasks to bulk complete/incomplete tasks, Bulk Assign tasks, Bulk Duplicate and Bulk Delete tasks. To select multiple tasks, simply mark the check boxes of the tasks in question in the second column or select the checkbox at the very top to select all tasks.
Roast Plan on the RoastPATH App
In the RoastPATH App there will be a tab between Notebook and Underlay that will display the Roast Plan List. This list is a copy of what is present in the Portal and is updated anytime the tab is opened or when clicking on the refresh button. This list contains most of the details that the portal does with the exception of the project and the ability to edit or change the task.
Filtering is also available by clicking on the Filter drop-down and selecting a category and then what detail you want the list to contain.
The manage button opens the Roast Plan list on the web portal.
Another feature of Roast Plan in the RoastPATH App is the ability to automatically enter every detail you planned with a click of a button. Begin by selecting a task and then clicking on the Roast button that appears at the top of the list. The Coffee, version of Coffee, Underlay, and Batch Size you entered into the task gets auto-filled into the Roasts profile’s details(Machine Config still needs to be manually entered) and the task will be marked as in progress and will be denoted by the flame icon in status.
When a Roaster is finished with a task, simply click save and check the box that marks the task as completed. In addition there will be another checkbox that, when selected, will move on to the next task in the list that is not completed after clicking save. This sequential task will auto-fill the necessary information as if the Roaster had selected the task to be Roasted.
